- The currency is the Cape Verde Escudo (CVE). These can only be bought on the islands.
- Euros are widely accepted. The exchange rate is 1 Euro to 110 CVE.

Public Transport
- TACV fly between most islands and special air passes are available which work out cheaper if you are island hopping.
- There are ferries from Sao Vicente to Santo Antao and Santiago to Fogo to Brava.
- Car hire is available on most of the islands. A 4WD is a good idea as many roads are really just dirt tracks. An international driving license is required.
- Taxis are cheap in towns.
- There are also minibuses and trucks that drive fixed routes, collecting and dropping passengers along the way.
