• This is a no brainer. You should have insurance. The peace of mind is worth the small outlay. We recommend WORLD NOMADS Insurance. You can buy, extend and claim online even after you've left home. Money

• Bonaire’s currency is the Netherlands Antilles Guilder (NAf) The exchange rate is fixed at 1.77 NAF to the US$ for cash.
• Banks and ATM’s are located around the island. Opening hours are 8am -3.30pm
• 10% tips are the norm. Many restaurants add a service charge to bills.

• Internet cafes are wireless internet is widely available.
• Direct dial telephones are in most resorts. There is mobile phone coverage.

Accommodation

• Bonaire accommodation is mainly studios or small scale guesthouses. Private villas are also available for rent.

Electricity

• 120 volt, 50 cycles. US appliances will work.
