Getting There

  • Tourists arrive at Flamingo International airport.
  • There are daily flights from North and South American cities and there a few flights per week direct from Amsterdam.
  • There are no ferries to Bonaire
  • Cruise ships visit from December to April

Visas

  • Citizens of most western countries do not need a visa to enter Bonaire. Citizens of most Asian and African and Middle Eastern countries do need to obtain a visa for stays up to 3 months.

Climate

  • Bonaire lies outside the Caribbean hurricane belt and has an average year round temperature of 28 degrees C.
  • October and November are the rainiest months but still drier than northern Caribbean islands.
  • Bonaire genuinely is a year round destination.

Health

  • No vaccinations are required for visitors to Bonaire.
  • Water is distilled from seawater and is safe to drink.
  • The main hospital is the 60 bed Hospitaal San Francisco. The emergency number for the ambulance is 114.

Personal Safety

  • Bonaire is very safe.
  • Lock your rental car if you have valuables inside.
