- English is the official language although the Bermudian English dialect can take a little getting used to.
Things to do and see
- The most popular beach is Horseshoe Bay Beach. But there are many more less crowded and equally beautiful pink sand beaches. Try Elbow beach, Tobacco Bay, Clearwater beach, John Smith's Bay Beach, Shelly Bay, Chaplin Bay.
- Learn to swim with Dolphins at Dolphin Quest, Royal Navy dockyard.
- George Town is a UNESCO World heritage site with colonial British architecture of fountains, gardens, squares and cobbled streets. It's the oldest continuousy inhabited town of English origin in the New World.
- The Bermuda Maritime Museum at the Royal Navy Dockyard, the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo in Flatts Village or the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institude in Pembroke.
- Visit the Bermuda National Trust Museum.
- Explore Crystal and Fantasy caves.
- Play on one of the eight golf courses
- Go sailing or windsurfing, parasailing or water skiing,
- Other activities include fishing, bowling, cycling, birdwatching
- There are also many historical buildings, churches and forts around the island plus the botanical gardens.
