When to go:
Although most areas can be dived year round the best time to dive Sabah and the east coast of peninsular Malaysia is April-September with May-August being peak time. See dive site descriptions for specific details.
Wetsuit required:
3mm shorty wetsuit is usually sufficient.
Visibility:
5-50m. Sipadan and Layang Layang have superb visibility. Other areas are less predictable.
